Ham Sandwich

Ham Sandwich have been around and about in one very interesting shape or another since 2003, but it wasn’t until the autumn of 2005 – with the release of their debut single, ‘Sad Songs’ – that they began to be known outside their home county of Meath. The band formed due to the collective band member’s creative urge to be always one step ahead of the posse. It’s a manifesto that they have resolutely stuck to.

Within days of the release of 2008 debut album Carry The Meek they had picked up the Meteor Award for Hope of the Year. The album received huge acclaim and the band went on to play major festivals across Ireland and the UK. The experience shaped them ahead of their second long player, White Fox which was released in October 2010. Jam packed with potential radio hits it was not until February 2011 that Ham Sandwich finally reached their biggest audience with the release of their track ANTS combining their knack of creating a memorable pop melody with a dark twist. Due to the breakout success of ‘White Fox’ in 2011 the band have appeared at SXSW in Texas, Popkomm in Berlin and the twin festivals in Leeds & Reading in the UK.

The experience shaped them ahead of their second long player, due late in 2010, and preceded by the single ‘The Naturist’, which received huge radio play this spring. Combining their knack with a memorable pop melody with a dark twist, it proved that Ham Sandwich’s best is yet to come. The album will be backed by full live dates.
