25 Years Later

It has been 25 years since Arrested Development dropped their debut album 3 Years, 5 Months & 2 Days In The Life Of… on 24th March 1992. The era of good ‘aul tape cassettes and record stores.
The album not only gave rise to the popularization of Southern Hip Hop but was an immense success, with their sound travelling around the globe and making the band a household name worldwide.
The incontrovertible masterpiece by the 8-member-strong alternative American hip hop group proved a big chart success - seeing that 3 Years, 5 Months & 2 Days In The Life Of… was released just over a year after their formation in the beginning of the 90s, the hit album sure is something the musicians can be proud of.
Arrested Development is the brain child of Speech and DJ Headliner and was originally formed as a positive, afrocentric alternative to the gangsta rap - a rather popular genre in the early 1990s.

A fine record that often crosses the line into excellence and a major influence on a new breed of alternative Southern hip-hop, including Goodie Mob, Outkast, and Nappy Roots -Steve Huey of AllMusic
